Kickoff Activate Upper Palmetto '08

This years Activate Upper Palmetto Kickoff, held at the Winthrop Coliseum, saw a wide range of participants. There were students, young adults, adults and seniors.  Some came alone, some came as couples or families, and others came as groups.  Piedmont Medical Center was on hand providing counseling in the areas of stroke and heart disease prevention, cancer awareness, nutrition and stress management. Piedmont also conducted a total of 384 free blood sugar screenings as well as offering a variety of other health screenings.

The local YMCA's were on hand to discuss membership offers, provide fitness demonstrations, conduct body fat measurements and record participant's initial weigh-in.
